On Saturday, May 3rd, we performed at Therapy Lounge for the first time since 2011, impressing both the owners and staff with our smooth and spectacular show.
It was terrific to have the support of some familiar faces that night as well, including fellow musician Chris Strei and local entrepreneur Rich Robillard. We hope to return for more therapy in the near future, so keep an eye out for a potential autumn show announcement.
Brantford’s premier Scottish pub played host to the Best Live Music, Bar None! on Saturday, May 24th, our last scheduled appearance at McGonagalls until September.
It was an incredibly fun-filled evening with over a dozen new fans in attendance, including valued Brantford Music Centre customers, friends from the Paris Performers’ Theatre and family members who made the 6-hour trek from Ottawa.
With only two appearances on the calendar last month, we were able to spend a considerable amount of time focusing on rehearsals and organizing our complete songlist.
In doing so, we have come to realize that we have nearly 150 songs in our repertoire, an impressive 8 hours worth of material! Several of these songs haven’t been played live since 2006 or before, meaning that the majority of our current audience have never heard them.
Over the next little while, we’ll be working towards bringing these retired gems back into the limelight, changing up both the content and order of our live show.
This coming Saturday, June 14th is our inaugural appearance at the all new Manny’s Place on Stanley St. This building is already steeped in BarCode history, as we played a handful of shows at this location back in 2006 and 2007, while it was still going by the moniker of Goodfellas II.
Towards the end of June, we’ll be on the road to Niagara-on-the-Lake, providing a portion of the entertainment at Anne and Tim’s wedding, as well as swinging by the Pellizzari residence in Brantford to party at their annual Canada Day bash for the 6th consecutive year.
After looking uncharacteristically sparse for several months, our summer schedule is finally starting to shape up, with stops in Fisherville, Port Dover and Turkey Point.
