Our summer season is quickly coming to an end and although July and August have been quieter for us this year than they were in 2013, we’ve had some fantastic times at our new and old haunts.
On Saturday, July 5th, we rolled on down to the sunny shores of Lake Erie to visit the Norfolk Tavern. It was our first appearance in exactly a year at this historic venue and our Port Dover friends and fans did not disappoint!
The following Sunday, July 13th, saw us head off to Fisherville in the early morning hours to entertain for the 3rd consecutive year at the Haldimand Classic Ford Truck Club Show & Shine.
Although a rocky start weather-wise resulted in us having to set up and tear down our equipment twice, the clouds soon parted and the sun was shining on some beautiful Ford and Mercury trucks and vans, including Les Jr.’s 1974 Ford F350 Super Camper Special Ranger XLT, which is finally back on the road after having the engine rebuilt!
Last month we also gave a rare weekday performance, as we appeared during a private event at the law firm of Waterous Holden Amey Hitchon on Wednesday, July 16th.
Many of the office staff heard us for the first time and were pleasantly surprised; we are proud to announce we have been invited to perform for their Christmas party this year at one of our favourite local venues, the Brantford Golf & Country Club. See you folks in December!
Rounding out July was our inaugural visit to Sandbar on the Beach, right on the water in picturesque Turkey Point. It was a terrific evening filled with family and friends; thanks to Stephen, Carissa and their staff for having us!
After enjoying some time off at the beginning of the month, we were right back into the swing of things last Saturday, August 16th - the date of our 11th anniversary - as we rocked the pavilion at the Arthur Fairgrounds for the 20th Annual Ford & Mercury Truck Nationals.
It was the second time we have made the trek up to Wellington North and we are happy to report that our return has already been secured for next year, making Arthur our first confirmed gig for 2015.
On Labour Day weekend we’ll bid a fond farewell to summer with a double-nighter! Join us Saturday at the Norfolk Tavern in Port Dover and Sunday, we’re back at Willow Lake Park in Scotland for the first time in two years for an ALL AGES EVENT.
Regular daily park rates apply; don’t forget your lawn chairs!Looking ahead, we have only one scheduled show on the calendar for next month; the Best Live Music, Bar None! swings by McGonagalls Pub for our first public Brantford show since June.
