It’s the week of our 13th anniversary and the season is in full swing!
July was a hectic month featuring a private party, the Haldimand Classic Ford Truck Club Show & Shine and stops at the Norfolk Tavern, Manny’s Place, Emerald Lake and Brantford Powerfest.
Our summer schedule kicked off on Friday, July 1st with a visit to the Pellizzari Canada Day party. We love entertaining for this group of appreciative folks; it really sets a great mood for the entire season.
The following night we rolled on down to Port Dover for our second of four 2016 appearances at the historic Norfolk Tavern. This venue is always hopping and holiday weekends are certainly no exception.
Sunday, July 10th saw us head through Hagersville into the heart of Haldimand County, returning for the 5th consecutive year to the Classic Ford Truck Club Show & Shine in Fisherville.
This quaint country gathering is a great way to spend a Sunday and has become one of favourite annual events. The relaxing ride home down the Lake Erie shoreline is always the perfect end to an afternoon of entertaining.
Our second double-nighter of the year kicked off on Friday, July 15th, with our return to the roomy stage at Manny’s Place. A packed house awaited us for our only Brantford bar show of the summer and on Saturday, July 16th we enjoyed another terrific turnout in the air conditioned event hall at Emerald Lake RV Resort & Waterpark.
Brantford Powerfest invaded the downtown core on Saturday, July 23rd, with hundreds of classic and vintage cars, trucks, vans, bikes, street machines and more. We were proud to once again provide the soundtrack live from the Bell Stage in Harmony Square.
A special thanks goes out to our friends at RPM Magazine for allowing us to be a part of this special event. 100% of the proceeds raised stay in our community, being donated to local children’s charities.
It’s an unusually quiet month for us, but we brought it in like a lion with the 7th running of the Brantford Kinsmen Ribfest on Saturday, August 6th. We were part of an unbelievable roster of bands this year, sandwiched between our musical brothers in Hairy Mulligan and Freedom Train.
All 3 of us were in attendance for Hairy Mulligan and stuck around to hop aboard the Freedom Train after we were finished. We also swung by the park at noon on Sunday for reggae sensations Circle 5 and to make some noise for our pals the Red LaForme Band.
Congratulations go out to the Kinsmen Club of Brantford on another successful event; the weather was decent overall and with those bands, attendance was up for sure!
After we enjoy this weekend off, we’re back to the beach on Saturday, August 27th, as we’ve been invited to perform at a cottage that we had the pleasure of visiting back in 2011.
Fingers crossed for sunshine, sand and surf!
September will be busy with a stop at the Norfolk Tavern on Labour Day weekend, Manny’s Place, Frankie’s Hometown Tavern, Take A Break and for the very first time, the Ancaster Fair. Stay tuned for further info!
